5th gen factory immobiliser key fob battery replacement?

Hi all,

I suspect the battery in my fob may be about to go & I should probably set about replacing it - it's become a bit temperamental of late & sometimes takes a couple of minutes of frantic button mashing to get a result, being stuck at the pump for a good 5 minutes in a busy petrol station this morning was the push I needed  Anyone know if it's a simple job or does it require reprogramming of the fob? I'm hoping it's the fob battery & not the actual immobiliser, hopefully changing the battery will solve it.

Cheers!
John

if its the same as my standard on then yes,its simple. just get a coin, turn the round section to remove the battery, my one uses cr2025 battery.

Hi there - sorry, should have been more specific, it's the square black fob with the 2 rubber buttons - think it's the factory CAT1 alarm/immobiliser fob?

This is it -

*EDIT - if anyone else stumbles across this problem the battery is a 23A 12V number & the fobs appear factory programmed to the immobiliser - the spare fob was completely dud & after changing the battery it worked fine 1st time, no re-programming necessary*
