Stuck 4th gen windows

Hi all, I'm back with another problem. :)

It's getting into sunny weather times and both my windows are now stuck. One's been stuck for years - it came off the hangar, I managed to push it up almost to the top (it whistles at high speed :x ), I tried once to fix it and failed, then I left it. Now the other's stuck too and I'll soon be cooking in the summer heat if I can't fix them.

I feel like this is a very easy job in theory, do not underestimate my mechanical stupidity though. ;)

As mentioned, I've tried previously to do this and miserably failed. I got the door card off and neither me nor my mate could figure out how to get to the window, or even how to get to the rails to grease them. It seems there's a squarish hole in the inner door skin that's your only access to the inner workings? This can't be true so what am I missing?

Had a search around but all I found was somebody replacing their window glass, saying "it's a piece of cake" so of course not giving many details..

my drivers side window is a bugger for sticking mate. by the sounds of it yours is much worse and needs the door mechanics/motor replacing, but maybe a cheaper option would be to replace the door? colour dependant of course, but my old silver one we swapped the door for around £20-30 :)

The idea of replacing the door had crossed my mind but I do believe it really just needs a thorough greasing up, if I can get to the hangars. Of course this belief is based mainly on blind faith rather than any actual knowledge. :D

If you wanna pop over one weekend I'll take a look at it with you, if you like.

Or if you're going to mimms, we could pull your door apart there?

I appreciate the offer, but it's very unlilkely I'll have the time for a trek over to Chelmsford and back any time soon. I'll have another crack at it myself sometime - and then probably just give up and get a new door.

As for Mimms, you guys would not want to be seen dead with my lude. It's a right state!
