A certain lude owning twit friend of mine has installed his battery the wrong way around (positive on neg lead and negative on pos lead) and plugged it in briefly

.... there's not a facepalm big enough for the clot he is.
anyway, any ideas of what he will have probably blown as... yes you can guess it, its now completely dead to try and start.
he had just previously started to have starting problems, where he went and got his battery tested at a shop - all tested ok, 3 greens or whatever it is. he then went to put it back in the car....

I would go through every single fuse in the engine bay and footwell fuse boxes. It only takes a few minutes to check every fuse.

Just take the car off him... Give him a bike in exchange!

The fuses may not have been affected. Though the more sensitive electronic components such as the ECU or dizzy may have been screwed.

The dizzy was a though of mine too, is that protected by a fuse? The ECU will be. The main relay etc.. should be behind a fuse.

I took that as it not even priming fuel.

I think the problem may be that the fuses may not even come into play, as components may well have been given a live feed from the body, with the fuses sitting after the component.

has nothing to do with fuses what he has done is make the body of the car live and all the delicate electrical components and their housings have become the path to earth you will be lucky if he hasnt fried the ecu and the dizzy and any other relays and switches that might have been affected
