Light Switch Legalities/MOT Query

I want to mount new switches rather than use prelude existing ones.

The three switches in question are;
1) Hazard Light Switch
2) Front Fog Light
3) Rear Fog Light

I know the Rear Fog switch needs to illuminate as an MOT requirement
Does the Front Fog switch need to illuminate also?

Hazard switch; Does this need to be an illuminated Hazard triangle type or can i get away with a normal switch labelled hazards and a flashing LED?
Otherwise i will have to utilise existing hazard switch.

Looking for deffinative answers here guys.

Cheers,

Marc

1) Hazard light switch must be secure. It does not need to illuminate, and the flashing can be from the indicator "tell tale", so in the Prelude you have the audible clicking and both lights on the dash flash. AFAIK the OEM switch doesn't illuminate or flash.
The hazard warning lamp ‘tell tale’ may be a separate light or the same as the indicator ‘tell-tale. However, it must be a flashing light.
2) Front fogs are not part of the MOT test, and as such are not tested.

3) Rear fog switch must be secure. The switch, or a "tell tale" on the dash must illuminate when the light is switched on.

The OEM hazard switch does illuminate. It's just not very bright. :)

HAHA fair enough then!

There is nothing in the MOT manual to say that it must illuminate though, so is not a requirement!
