Does anyone else find the 5gen rear screen aerial gives a very poor reception ? I was thinking of getting a shark fin aerial or one to stick on the inside or the rear window, has anyone else done this ?

no. iv had 4 5th gens and all have had great reception.

if i were you i would remove the rear plastics and check you dont have corrosion on the terminals or something. or maybe a crosses ariel wire with a power wire somewhere in the cable route would kill your signal. bad earth can as well.

Its the headunit not the aerial. I can get radio stations on my radio that not even digital TV or home stereo can receive.

What is the headunit? Some units require power for the antenna in the headunit. Like the Pioneer Nav one in my van. Awful reception over the stock unit and needs its own power feed on the antenna..

On my headunit in the S, FM stations are all fuzzy sometimes but the AM are top quality.

Buy my old Sony MEX-R1 headunit from my old SiR. I will do you a special deal.

It may not have any USBs but it is a DVD player. Can hold soo many songs. And you can hook it up to a Screen for to watch those dodgy porn video DVDs.
