my daily prelude has some ecu problems been going on for some time now looking to buy a new ecu obviously obd1 ive found an ecu on ebay that came off a jdm bb1. bloke thinks it'll be fine, but thought id run it past the great minds of lude generation before i go ahead and buy. Any other ideas of a replacement?

IMO you need to find a matching ECU ie one for a 2.3.

I wouldn't want to use a H22 ECU on an H23, especially a JDM H22 ECU.

Out of interest what is the problem you are experiencing?

Yeah I would definitely avoid an h22 ecu and particularly a jdm one - the jdm ecu will be looking for a knock.sensor and.throw a fault all the time when.it doesn't see one

I think I know where there is an h23 auto in a breakers local to me that still had the ecu fitted last time I was there
I can go and check on Monday and pick it up to post to you if you want. PM me your budget so that I know for negotiations at the breakers, or alternatively your phone number if you'll be able to answer the phone and talk to me while I'm there.

well im not 100% sold its the ecu now after reading loads of different posts...my lude decides to cut out at random times check engine light and flashing sport mode. after sitting for about 2 minutes it starts again. I thought it was overheating because my fan wasn't cutting in at half temp like it should..i sourced it to be the temp sensor so i ran a switch from the sensor into the cabin so i can control when the fan cuts in and out, i also pulled the ecu fuse in the fuse box out the no.10 fuse i read it resets the ecu just because i had my suspicions about the cutting out. After i did that i thought i had it sorted but today as i was travelling at speed it decided to die on me again.

When it cuts out, does the dash go completely dead or does it stay lit?

stays lit engine wont start for about 2 mins after taking the key out and trying to turn her over

If the dash stays lit, then.it's probably not the ignition switch...

Have you swapped the main relay and/or distributor?
