fogs issue

Post by chris167 » Sun Aug 30, 2015 11:04 am

Does anyone know if my rear fog will keep blowing my front fog on the same side? I changed the front then went to have a look at the rear and now the front has gone again. The rear bulb is fine and the wires look good so I'm presuming its the housing. Am I just unlucky or is there something else I should look at?

Aren't they on separate switches?

The majority of cars have the front and rears wired up to separate switches. Unless yurp are aftermarket and wired up directly to your rears. I can't remember the reason why they're wired up separately, just something about fog and (for the fronts) lower lights make it easier to see...or something like that. And, I think, the rear fogs should only come on when you have your dipped/main beams on. Not your sidelights.

Of course...I could just be chatting jobby

So the fogs switch to the right of the wheel isn't going to turn on the rear fog? When the rain stops I'm gonna put another bulb in to see if its just that regarding the front.

You have a 5g right? I also have a 5g with front and rear fogs. I know on mine there are 2 different buttons for the fog lights (both on the same panel). I believe (without looking at the car) there are 5 switch/buttons. One for front fogs, one for rear, one for headlight level, one for sun roof, one for cruise control. I will see if I can find a picture for you :-)

Yeah I'm ballin' a 5g too, iirc I only have 3 switches, fogs, cruise and sunroof.

Ive just been and had a look and I've got a feeling that if there was a rear fog switch on the panel its been replaced with a blinky Clifford light.

This is similar to what mine looks like. The red circle is rear fogs and the blue is front fogs :-)

Do you have any random switches that you think don't do anything? Or does the front fogs come on when you turn the rear one on?

On mine the fronts come on with the red circled switch and I don't have a rear ha. Better get a switch and bin the Clifford blink.

I'm gonna see if they are wired together first, wouldn't surprise me

Hmm strange one. So your front fogs are wired up to the rear fogs switch? And your rear fog doesn't work?
