Lude Generation

Put car through mot on Friday
Car passed with no observations apart from a comment from garage mechanic that my seatbelt warning lamp and chime was not working in the car

We had a look at the owners Manuel and it states that it is an option on some models so he let mne away with it

Is that normal for 98 2.0 prelude or has a previous owner disconnected it as I must admit they are annoying and I can live without it

My 1999 2.2 lude doesn't have one and I've never had any issue with it going through mot without it.

Got a 99 and doesnt have it

Maybe some JDM Ludes have it but UK Preludes don't. Thankfully Preludes do not have chimes

Doesn't your 4th Gen have the annoying beep beep chim when key first in ignition an no belt on?

No, I do have a pre face lift though so I dont know if that makes a difference. UK 5ths certainly don't.

I'm preface too. Sure it does it if u leave lights on too an keys removed with door open.

I can guarantee you that neither my JDM 4th or UK 5th have seat belt notifications. Yeah both cars chime if the lights are on, door is open and ignition off (well my 4th would do if the door sensor wasn't broken).

My manual BB4 had a seatbelt warning lamp, as far as I'm aware this isn't checked on the MOT and I disabled mine when I got the car as it reflected on the windscreen at night. There was no chime for not wearing your belt though.

My Auto BB4 also has the warning lamp, and when you switch the ignition on something in the dash chimes a couple of times times before the warning lamps go out. My manual BB4 doesn't do this for whatever reason.
