Acoustic stuff in 5th gen

Post by newkid » Tue Jul 12, 2016 9:09 pm

No rear speakers in the 5th gen. How I go about adding them? Plug has 4 wires so new to me. Do I need standard speakers or can I buy any old 6x9s

Cheers for the offer. Do they happen to have two wires or four going to them. I removed the speakers from my breaker and there only two wires meaning I got no sound. Something to do with a little amplifier in the boot.

Confirm there is only two wires to each speaker and there is also an amp in the boot of mine

Do you still have an amp in the breaker car that you could reuse?

Are you sure there is an amp in yours and you're not mistaking it for the rear window demister. The small tdk box with the coil in out is the demister box.

The acoustic feedback is 4 wires per speaker. You will will have to bypass the amp and wire standard speakers from the wires going into the long rectangle amp box.

Ratty
I will take a photo of it. At weekend must admit looks a weird set up as i have to put a lot of fade to front speakers as rear is that much louder or is this normal

And yes I might be mistaking it for a TDK demister?
I would note that the car was fitted with an acoustic feedback head unit when I bought it but I removed the unit as CD player was not working
