4G cutting out then will restart after 5-10mins

Hi
Anyone help, my 4G starts up no problem every morning but once warmed up will cut out and I loose all my dash lights (although the climate control still works).
It'll then turn over but not fire until the dash lights come back on. It's as if something is overheating and breaking down then once cool will work again for a while.
I've changed the main relay only a couple of weeks ago for a new one from Honda but wondered if anyone knows anything else I can check that would affect the dash lights and running.
Any help appreciated
Cheers

have you pulled any codes?
see if there is any fault stored on the ecu by doing a paperclip test - see link below

there is a relay of some sort in a white box behind the temp/fuel guage - not sure if thats any help...you can see it in this pic of the dash loom in one of my posts

Haven't pulled any codes, seems to be a feed issue and I'm suspecting a relay as it's intermittent so so must be switched and the switch is breaking down (probably from getting too hot).
As all the dash lights go out I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction for a dashboard main feed and either the signal for the electronic ignition or fuel pump/solenoid.
I'll look at the relay behind the dash once I've exhausted the rest as I really don't wan to get the dash out if I don't have to.
Anyone got the wiring for a jap import or fusebox relay position ad my Japanese isn't very good.

Is ignition switches an issue on 4g?

could be - think
@Drax might have some info on ignition switch...
fuse box diagram and other info can be found in the wiki section of the forum

distributors are a real weak point on the lude so youd need to check that out as well

Thanks,
I tried wiggling the ignition switch when running but it doesn't appear to affect it.
Distributor was changed a couple of months ago and that failed so changed the coil and it worked again but don't see howbthat would affect the dash lights.
I'll have a look at fusebox diagram thanks

Sounds familiar to my ignition switch problem bud as vanzep said, mine was smoking so had a hint to where the problem was coming from lol check out my profile as I put up pics, if you can't find it let me know

Thanks, I'll have a look at that later guess that would make sense, definitely worth further investigation. Cheers

If it's cutting the car dead along with all dash lights you are looking at ignition switch/main relay/wiring issues. Definitely not related to coil/distributor.
Seems odd to me that the car still turns over but you aren't getting voltage to the clocks along with ignition &/or injector circuits...

Haven't had chance to have a look at anything today (and tomorrows looking doubtful) but I'll start working through the suggestions and keep the thread updated in case it happens to help anyone else.
Thanks for all the input so far!
