5gen Heater Problem

Post by dannymorris » Wed Feb 22, 2017 7:50 pm

For some apparent reason my heater/blower only works on full blast, it worked this morning on the way to work but now it doesn't.

Just to clarify, it doesn't matter what heat setting or position of the heater (windscreen, face, floor, air con) it only works on full power.

Anyone else had this problem & know a solution?

If you're car running up to temperature OK. Not overheating and no air traps in the cooling lines?

Had a civic that did this, needed replacement resistors in the heater unit to fix.

An example:

So I'm trying to locate the resistor but I'm not 100% sure what it looks like, is the what the green clip is attached to on the top left of the photo? It's driving me nuts

For anyone else struggling to locate this I found it, it's the one with the brown clip at the top of the picture, I'm not even going to attempt to remove it when I get my replacement, it's way to tight in there, so I'll just zip tie the new one in the space above.
