Wiring Up Front Fogs? **Pics now added***

Post by rob quilter » Mon May 07, 2012 7:55 pm

I've got a set of front fogs for the 5th that I got off Mills a while ago now.

I can change brakes, exhausts, do services and most of the greasy stuff. But I have no idea about electronics.

Does anyone have a guide or any tips on how to wire these up?

Thanks :D

People say that there is a OEM wire in the car for the fogs even if you didn't have the fogs from factory, but me and Salazar came to a conclusion that even if the wire was there you will need to put another wire from the fogs through the firewall to the relay inside the car. He had to put a wire and so did I, I think there was others that had to put a new wire as well. Maybe the OEM wire was rubbish. There are tonnes of guides Rob on all the forums. They are easy but I still couldn't understand them.  Finally Sal did it for me :geek:

Mate, when it comes to Honda data saying 'there is a wire somewhere in the footwell', my experience has led me to just create a new loom. Saves loads of time, heartache and efford.

Go forth and light up the fog. ;)

I couldn't for the life of me find the correct orange wire, in fact im sure I found two and neither of them worked.

Rob if you have the internal & external wiring, relay, switch and fogs its a pretty easy. There are loads of instructions for installation on the net. If you only have the fogs and switch I wrote a guide for doing your own wiring which is in the LG wiki.

Been in this exact situation. If you look in the front bumper you will find an orange wire down by the drivers side towards the wheel. Thats fine but where the hell is the other end as I could find an orange wire down by the footwell fuse box but it wasn't the other end of this wire..... So I ran my own wire between the fog light harness and the switch harness, problem solved. Do you have the harnesses? If not Merlin wrote up how you can wire in the foglights. If you have them then let me know and i can go into more detail with what I did.

I thought i'd stick up some pictures of the fogs I have to see if anyone can shed any light (no pun intended  ) on these. They seem to be 'plug and play' as they have connectors on the fogs already? :?
