So,

I'm in the que for a raspberry pi and had the idea for what I want to do with it yesterday. As I have an s300 in my ECU I figured I can set it up as a data logger / performance monitor.

I'd like to set it up for monitoring RPM, shift light, VTEC crossover and so on. Does anyone know if this is possible with the S300? :D

Yea pretty much, I haven't really looked at smanage properly to see what it can do. Rich tuned it so there wasn't any point until now :)

Problem being the Pi runs Linux and the software is only Windows, so you have to run it within a WINE or find another solution.

Yea that is true, I'm sure there are some clever people who have already setup emulators for it :)

Yeah, you'd need an x86 emulator, as the architecture will be ARM. Won't be fast though!

Shame smanager isn't open source, could be compiled for ARM and you'd be sorted :(

Hmmm, I do have a 'laptop' minus a screen which could be hooked up for this. That could work better if I can find somewhere to put the bloody thing, perhaps under the passenger seat.

My other concern would be how the ECU would behave if the PC hooked up to it running smanage were to crash, I don't want to kill the map or even the ECU. I don't plan on editing the map but equally it could cause some issues :scaredtoss:
