To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

Did you see my reply Dan?

I thought you just wanted to stop it all together, but if it's a case that it's faulty (beeping when it shouldn't) I'd say you've got a faulty ICM (plastic box of tricks which is mounted on the back of the footwell fuse board. 3 screws to remove the fuse board.)

i came across this kind of problem on a citroen xantia with the door open beeper going off even when key was out , found the fault to be the fact someone had changed the ignition lock and key but didnt have the new key programmed to the car so they had cut the old key up to retain the chip in it and taped it to the barrel inside the covers so it still got picked up by the pick up ring , thus the ecu thinks the key was always left in ............
success is the ability to go from one failure to the next without any loss of enthusiasm :D :D

Wierd... Never seen a xantia that has a key in warning! However... I'm not up to speed with the series 2's, tbf...

And yep, the key in beeper on jdm ludes is in the ICM.

Ahh it's the barrel sticking mate, if you pull the key out quick enough and feel a click it will go off I found, but if you don't feel the click it keeps beeping..

I remember it doing it when I was home..

well i managed to get a chance and fix this last night WOOP WOOP!!!

Pushki's instructions told me of a black connector under the inner fuse box, behind the plastic tucked up against the carpret...and as i mentioned before i could only see a green one :?

so took the plastic off, unplugged this...

and took a gamble and cut the blue wire with white stripe and hey presto!!! beeping stopped!!

soooOOOOOOOOO thankful!! and thank you Pushki 8-) but the instructions may need editing to do with the connector colour, ill see what colour the in Will's old lude is.
