How to get the 4ws code.

Post by usman754 » Wed Apr 11, 2018 8:50 pm

Hi guys,
As above, how do I get the 4ws code please? My car is 1991 4th gen 2.2 si vtec. 4ws light came on this morning. I simply disscontected the battery terminal for 30 mins and restarted the car and it ran fine the whole day(30 miles). But light came back up again. It comes up after driving few yards. It might be the abs sensor but would like to know the exact cause.
I do know the procedure of paper clip into the blue connector but not sure if it's same for the 4 wheel steer as well??? Do I need to hold the brake to obtain the 4ws code or something?
Thank you in advance.
Regards.
Usman.

Same deal man, short the two pin connector and count the flashes of the 4WS light for the 4WS code.

No worries, you'll find the code lookup table in the wiki link at the top of the page ;)

Many thanks.....

I have the day off today to do some jobs on the Prelude, the ABS and 4WS faults (which I think are related) are my first major jobs to tackle. Everything else is fairly minor, minor in the wallet-sapping respect..... :D

I'm trying to get the information out of the wiki atm, but not having much joy :(

However I have added CEL, ABS and 4WS codes to the Knowledge Base above
