Headlight Removal

Post by uberNoobZA » Sun Oct 14, 2018 11:08 am

If I want to remove the headlights, do I need to remove front bumper first, or is everything easily accessible without removing the front bumper ? I know it's pretty easy to get the bumper off, but I'd rather not, as I've just had it resprayed and it's fitting nicely, so don't want to disturb it :D

its a bumper off job normally - there are three lower bolts which need to be removed - one underneath the side light is tucked away between the front wing and bumper - might be able to remove it if the front wing was taken out :?

Need to loosen/remove the bumper bar as well, depends how you remove the bumper really as the best method is to remove it with the bar attached... I've never tried this successfully though lol

To be honest, when I swapped the bumper, I had to 'rip' the old one off, as it was held on with 2 clips that were under the headlights (one under each headlight), and I couldn't get the headlights off. So, if you need bumper off to get headlights off and headlights off to get bumper off.... erm.... too much for my little brain.....

The bumper only comes off with the bar. Its in the manual.

Once you've done it with the bumper bar, you'll kick yourself for not doing it that way before. ;)

Exactly that.
Bumper off to get to the headlights.
Bumper off complete with bumper bar (no ripping off required!).
