DAB Aerials

Post by toadster » Tue Nov 13, 2018 5:59 pm

LO All :D
I'm getting a new double din stereo for Christmas to replace my current double din unit 8)
I was wondering what people would recomend as far as a DAB aerial :?:
I currently have a DAB add on box that connects to My existing stereo and have a magnetic aerial that I used to stick to my boot lid at the base of my rear window but it marked My paintwork :(
Are the window mount ones any good :?:
Please let Me know any recomendations guys
Cheers ;)

Ive got a little box/sticker one on my windscreen corner - it has a 12v feed / booster i'm assuming.

Its crap and i need to replace it - interference caused by blower motor , electric windows / electric mirrors.

If you find a good discrete one , be sure to let us know.

I'm half tempted to rig the existing antenna to the DAB connector, as i think the prelude one is amplified as standard, and has excellent reception for analogue (not sure what the frequency of DAB covers, but i bet its not too far away from the traditional FM space).

I've got a Blaupunkt one that runs to the rear window and has a small square that attaches to it (just self adhesive), then the aerial itself attaches opposite, on the outside of the window if that makes sense. I assume the 'connection' is a bit like when charging a toothbrush ?!
Anyway, I've been using that for about 15 years and it's great. HTH 8)

In my daily hack, which is currently my other half's Yaris, there is one of the ones which sticks to the inside of the windscreen. It is fairly discreet and seems to work well enough.

I've got one very similar to this in the 1st Gen Lude, sat high up on passenger side of front screen. Works a treat and is cheap enough.
