Heater Control Unit Bulbs

Post by km666 » Wed Nov 20, 2019 6:09 pm

I searched high and low for what type of bulbs the heater unit takes. After checking out parts-honda.uk and studying the heater control diagram hopefull i'll save somebody else a bit of time.

The main unit takes 3 bulbs, part no 34354-SBO-003, otherwise known as neo wedge 4.2.
2 are located on the top.
Replacement is a case of following steps 1-3 as these are easily accessable.
The 3rd is located underneath the unit and requires removal of the green plug.

Easy removal of whole unit is as follows:
1: Prise away plastic wood or plastic carbon panal surrounding unit.
2: 4 screws holding unit in place, undo.
3: Heater control unit partially slides out.
4: On underside is linkage for temp slider, undo single screw holding metal bracket in place. You can now manipulate the arm from the slider end to allow the removal of the connection (A metal loop holding onto a plastic pin, similar to door handle connection). Note: some models vary slightly in that the cable either connects to a point just below the unit or otherwise snakes well under the dash, like mine.
5: Remove green and brown plugs.
6: Remove unit.
