Does anyone know if these would be a direct fit into the lude - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/speaker ... ent-system

I don't really want to muck around with mounting brackets etc. so direct fit would be ideal.

Unlikely as those mounts stick out all 4 corners.
You will have to measure, maybe download the speaker manual and make a paper template and see if it slots in. On the 5th Gen you only need to take the speaker grill off and speaker out to test.

@RattyMcClelland Ah, I see what you mean. I don't think they will go in looking at that pic.

So, what is the best course of action? A mounting bracket? I assume the whole door card will need to come off for speaker and tweeter replacement.

I fitted 5.25" components straight in with no modifications.

A 6" speaker should fit. I always use mdf spacers. I squeezed 7.1" speakers in mine but allot of work, fibreglassing, metal cutting etc to clear the big magnets.

No problem. They are an eBay special, I found some Kenwood KFC-PSR51P 5.25" speakers cheap and relatively period to the cars era which helps as its something I get weirdly obsessed with
