Hi all just looking for any handy tips on getting stuck CD out of Gathers single CD player in my BB6 5th Gen. It wont play and wont eject - just rattles about.
Im not having much luck with audio as both 4th gen (DSP) and 5th gen CD player both out of action.
Any help would be much appreciated as always

If you can see a pinhole on the front of the unit, straighten out a paperclip and push it into the hole.
This works for computer CD units to manually eject the CD.

I think you'll have to dismantle the unit to get it out, tbh.
Not difficult, just a bit fiddly.
These kind of things are normally caused by the sliders having gummed up/grease dried out and gone hard (worst case is things like gears stripped due to the grease having dried up, but that's not common). If you do take it apart, worth giving all the sliding parts a clean and light re-grease with silicone grease anyway (the Honda Shin-Etsu grease is fine).

Managed to get the stuck cd out by using interference technique

stuck another cd ontop of jammed one then applying some slight downward force and dragging them both out. But still not able to get one in and playing. So it's just radio I've got to listen to which is all bollocks

Or get something like this, and load all your sounds to an SD card or an USB stick and play through your FM radio.
SONRU FM Transmitter, Bluetooth 5.0 Car Transmitter Car Radio Transmitter Hands Free Car Kit MP3 Player

Thanks for the suggestion but i have to admit i never got round to sd cards or usb sticks - i am strictly old school - i still have vinyl and tapes but made the change to cd without any problem.

I would like to keep the preludes as oem as possible and am reluctant to make any changes.
I only play a few hendrix or zeppelin cds anyway
How easy is it to remove the cd player and clean it up so it works?

FM trasmitters are quite nice as you do not need to do any changes to your car. Most of them just getting power from your lighter socket and using memory cards or USB or even connect to your phone by bluetooth or cable. This thing become then a little radiostation and all you must do is tune your honda radio to receive the signal.
