Removing a Kph-Mph converter

Bumble_bee has this kph-mph converter i want to remove (to get her vtec back in first gear)

now is this a case of simply unplugging it? (the silver box) or do i need a different set of jdm facelift dials to replace the current facelift dials? although i cant see where the hell the current wires would fit/plug into behind the dash that currently go into the silver box
i have a spare pre-facelift dials

but these are no good as one of the green plugs is located awkwardly plus theres only 3 plugs as im guessing because this has SRS and 4WS as her facelift does not.
