Bumble_bee has this kph-mph converter i want to remove (to get her vtec back in first gear)

Image

now is this a case of simply unplugging it? (the silver box) or do i need a different set of jdm facelift dials to replace the current facelift dials? although i cant see where the hell the current wires would fit/plug into behind the dash that currently go into the silver box :?

i have a spare pre-facelift dials

but these are no good as one of the green plugs is located awkwardly plus theres only 3 plugs as im guessing because this has SRS and 4WS as her facelift does not.

the silver box in the first pic is an inverter box which is part of the El dials.there must be another converter box somewhere else.

If you have no vtec in first gear, the converter will be between the VSS and the ECU

Look right above the VSS on the gearbox for a spliced-in chip. If it's not there, look in the top right hand corner where all the connector plugs are.

Stick it near the clocks and the speedo will read in MPH, you'll have vtec in first and the Japanese speed limiter of 112mph as the car would originally, just it's in MPH
