5g cluster wiring

Post by A1ex » Wed Jun 20, 2012 5:45 pm

I'm looking to install my digital rev counter & shift light this evening (after seeing how off the one in the instrument cluster is). Anyway, it's come with 4 short wires to connect to the cluster & 2 long ones to go to the ECU to interrupt the vtec signal (not installing these ones).

So I know where the 12v and ground wires go, but I need to tap the wires for the acceleration & rpm signals which are orange & brown on the controller unit.

Does anyone know which cluster wires, ideally by position, I need to tap to get these signals for the rev counter? :)

PS. I've already looked at the wiring diagram for the 5g but the ones I have proved a little inconclusive :(

Nice one,

Think it could be easier to extend the short wires and run them to the ECU harness;

pg 11 & pg 16

Will have to double, triple & quadruple check everything tho as have a P28 ECU in so will have to check everything against the positions on the cnoversion harness :scaredtoss:

I know for a fact the rev counter is blue. You can actually tap into it from the test plug in the engine bay. ( I used this when installing my remote start). It's a single blue wire near the drivers side strut in the engine bay.
