el clocks, rev counter bit haywire

Rev counter is fed by a signal from the dizzy I think. Does VTEC still kick in properly when the rev counter is going crazy? If yes, that points at the dial itself.

Page 23-166 of the 4G service manul has the troubleshooting guide for the clocks. I'd have a go at that.

I had something like that on mine, the rev counter bounced and when you boot it the rev counter went off the scope. Changed the dials for a replacement set and everything now works. Might not be the same but worked for me.

yup change the dials - i had issue where it was showing 20mph when at a stop - changed the dials and all was well.

im sure i saw a write up on how to fix the track on the el dials - will look for it if you cant find some new el dails - ive also got a set of old knacked ones if you want to have a look at a set - will bring them with me tonight when i pick up the gearbox 8-)
