Hello guys,

I think I've asked this question before but didn't get a proper answer so I'm asking again.

In my Type-S, I have the climate control which is integrated with the navigation system. At the moment my sat nav doesn't work as the screen it self is broken, I can't use some of the fans etc. I can still use the AC via the buttons where the hazards switches would have been in the UKDM car.

So main question is can I install a normal JDM climate control in to my car to replace the screen (navigation).

Form the looks of it, all I need is the single din control, new surround, some switches near the hazard lights and that's about it.

I did consider this too when my screen stopped working (now fixed ).

There is a white control module that takes the commands from the touch screen and sends the appropriate action out to the fans air con condenser etc. I would assume that the standard fan switches would have a similar output that you would need to wire into your JDM loom into. i don't know if this is plug and play possibly not but I recon you could sus it out with a multi-meter.

Did you figure out what is not working on the Sat nav? if it is just the screen back-light I can fix it...

I think my screen is broken, if the backlight was broken then I would still been able to change the heaters etc.

We can have another go at fixing it?

The JDM climate control module (for the 4th at least) has, I believe, 2 connector plugs which go direct off to the various bits for fan, vents, a/c etc.

If it still has these 2 plugs, then you should be able to... there might be an additional "control unit" (the white box that SiR Si mentions) but if this simply plugs into one or more of these two plugs...

Mine has died too. Think I need to change it to the normal system as well.

Would be really good to sort out, as I'm always really nervous if mine breaks that I will loose my climate control.

If you can get hold of the climate controls, I recon that I could figure out the wiring on it.

We need a wiring diagram of our system. I will start hunting.

I can not find a wiring diagram, wondering if the best think to do is to take out the whole screens system and replace it with the standard wiring and heating controls?
