How to extinguish SRS Light on a 4g?

Post by chrismc » Mon Aug 13, 2012 6:58 pm

Today I have been doing a mild strip-our 4g to remove all the obvious sources of the dreaded weight.

Old alarm/immobiliser, centre console, footwell rubber mats & passenger SRS airbag module. ~15kgs total. Not bad

CC, Aircon & 2ws rear subframe to follow!

However, in removing the passenger airbag I now have a permanent SRS airbag light on the dash

Is there a quick fix to extinguish it please? Not fancying removing the bulb- read somewhere about putting a resistor in the circuit- does this sound plausible?

Any help gratefully received,

Cheers

Yeah, sounds like you need a resistor in the line. All airbags should be 1.2ohms so you just need that size resistor. I've done it to 3 cars now, mostly due to different seats.

Easy job and there quite cheap :-)
236bhp and 170ft/lb stock
