Headlight problem, burnt plugs

I presume the corrosion (they should have been greased) led to high resistance & therefore high temperatures and to the melting. Like an electric heater...
Your best bet for now would be to tin the ends of the wires & crimp on some proper, non-insulated crimp connectors (with slip-over insulating covers) that are the correct size for the blub spades.
You'll get the proper ones (not those horrible blue insulated rubbish!) from a good motor factors.
