I was thinking about lightning on VTEC couple years ago too, but what's the point ? When VTEC kicks, nobody will manage to even notice the sign, they just can wave goodbye I connected to side lights.

EDIT: ^^^ good one. Never saw this made, but had this idea maybe 5 years ago, just black background, red letters. Never did that, had not enough time because more important things to do to Prelude

Was the upper light ever a brake light? Mine came as standard with the prelude logo and was always wired to come on with the side lights has never worked as a brake light.
Just put in super bright blue l.e.d bulbs to show through the tints!!!!

If it's wired for VTEC, the sign should read VTEC.
I've voted for it to come on with the side lights.

A nice idea and easy enough to acheive. I installed a VTEC light in my dash like the link, it's a doddle. But the correct way like JayJay's epic one is to wire in a separate power source and use the VTEC feed for a relay switch.

From what I've seen, there is two types, a red tiled item as a third brake light (like I have) or a blue/turqoise lit Prelude logo which as Dbo says comes on with the sidelights.

I was going to suggest VTEC as well if you hadn't thought of it. You could always have a number of different stencils made up and swap them over whenever you feel like a change.

Something as simple as "SEE YA!" would do it lol
