Ok so I'm in the final stages of the h22 polo build, just shafts, brakelines and lights to do. Iv came to sort the lights BUT hit a problem.

Iv got the front R/H working but no rear R/H

rear L/H but no front L/H..

Could this be due to me not having side indicators wired In?? Or have I missed something??

Not probable, but it is possible, that by not having side repeaters in, that the circuit is open. Worth trying the simple things first.

Most modern cars are designed so that even with the light gone, the other lights will still work, as a safety aspect incase of a minor accident, but yours may be an older style where all the bulbs need to be there for the circuit to be complete. Maybe try bridging the wires so the circuit is at least closed as if there was a side repeater in there.

It's all 5th gen wiring so I was expecting it to work even if the side indicators where not fitted.. It's stumpted me..

I'm off to the scrapyard tomorrow to pick some bits up so ill pick something up from there..

If not what could it be..? Iv checked the earths and all are good

I bridged the wires and blew the fues....

If in doubt, make your own wiring loom from the working lights to the non-working ones. Doesn't take too long at all.

If you understand how to wire something in parallel, that's all you need to do. Just run a wire from the +ve of the working one to the +ve of the non working one, and you said the earths are already all good, so that'll work spot on :)

Ok so iv ran wires so it will indicate but they are still rapid!!

If I wire in some bike LED resistors to slow down the indicating will it sort it out?

yeah that should work. they are flashing fast as you haven't got the side repeaters in so there isn't enough resistance in the circuit.

Iv got them in now but still no go they won't work..... ( side repertors wired in but not flashing )

Would a 25w 60hm resistor work?

Also what is the best guage wire to use with me running it the full length of the car I don't fancy it setting on fire

2.5mm 30amp?

1.5mm 21amp
