Hi after some help. My 4th gen prelude has been sat for a while and now won't start. It started briefly then the gauges went off and the car cut out at the same time and won't restart .
The temperature gauge / fuel gauge and clock all went off and are now not lighting up .
Has anybody had this before .
Cheers jon

I've not, but the clock is on a separate board from the gauges, which suggests it's not circuitry and there's a power feed issue. Couple that with the non start and it could be as simple as a fuse blown somewhere or poor earth's.

I had this recently - flat battery and alternator packed in. Temp/Fuel guage section went first and then speedo.
May be same issue so check voltage at alternator
Could be down being damp - you could always take the guages out and check them over :)

this. if the car now starts ok it's likely damp as the water drains off the inner front screen onto the Temp/Fuel gauge circuit, mine suffers from this most years. once run a few times to warm up and dry they should re-appear

Does it crank but not fire? Do you have good bright guage lights? Flat battery? The gauges used to go down regularly on my bb2 and would randomly come to life.. the clock is on a separate circuit though as Vtecmec says, so if that’s down it could be a fuse or relay sticking due to lack of use… old car problems
