A mk2 fiesta for brake lights/indicators/Head lights
What size wire do you think I need?
I can't see it pulling a huge amount, think if the headlights are 55w each it's 9 amps but I don't want to under spec it
I was thinking of using 16 amp 1mm wire just to be safe
Also how much wire do you think I need? the wires will run down the centre of the car and it's approx 5m long
Was going to get 50m spilt into different colours for the different lights but having trouble deciding what length's I need
Also where to fuse it, could i fuse it on the negative? Would save me having to run more wires through the car
any help appreciated

The fuses will have to be on the live side, and as close to the battery as possible, leaving as little un-fused live wire as possible.

Battery is in the boot so that adds more wiring, I was trying to keep it simple

A single thick cable up to the ignition, then thinner wires to each bulb. Simples.

B&Q roll of Twin and earth will do.
Seriously though, you'll be surprised how much cable you'll go through. I was quite embarrassed when I ripped out all my extra wiring out of my lude when I stripped the interior. It must have filled a wheely bin

Yeah I want to add as little as possible, the car has had a massive diet, all it has lights wise is one brake light on the boot
But was are going to be using it as beginners so need indicators, and I'm not really sure what else, It will be run at MSV tracks and their rules are a little vague, Basically MOT standard unless its a track car, but not sure what they class as a "track" car or if a road car converted to a use on track is classed as a "track car"

Check the MOT rules, I know with motorbikes, if you have indicators fitted, they must work. If you don't have indicators, thats fine. Not sure if it's the same with cars. I know the highway code used to have diagrams of how to do hand signals in a car!

Yeah shell is -ve
So according to that 11 or 16.5amp for everything bar the headlights which I need 25amp?
