I had something similar happen in my 5th with my powered tyre pump. It was a blown fuse.

ive just replaced the cigarrette lighter on my 4th gen - bit of a pain.
Sounds similar - i had a light plugged into it for months with no problem - took it out and couldnt get it work again so just replaced the whole thing.

You will need to remove the complete stereo surround if it needs to be replaced as it is a right pita.

On the Import its right at the bottom of the centre console in a recess...radio is much higher in the double din console

Before you go ripping out the interior check you fuses (interior and engine bay fuse boxes) as that is a quick 5 min job.

You've probably bent one of the tabs that hold the fag lighter in its slot and it's got no -ve return. Usually, it also means if the lighter does get hot, it pings out & sets fire to you/the back seat.

Bend the tabs back in with a screwdriver.

Failing that, check the pin in the base is hot, with a cheap multimeter. It may be covered in c rap or something. Or the 10A has blown.

The return lead could have fallen off the casing, as suggested above.

Merlin - I'm fed up of that happening. I now turn off the radio first and start the pump before connecting it to the tyre valve!

Check all that youve suggested S B but its just dead ...ridiculous what else can go wrong in a metal case and a couple of contacts
the cheap scrap yard one works on the same wires no prob...so now looking for pukka honda replacement.

Merlin / New kid did a fuses swap the whole lot... new for old still nothing
