Vtec light not a good idea

After reading a few threads about installing a vtec light i thought this aint a bad idea so i brought a led bulb off ebay for £1.69 which flashes red and blue thinking atleast it will look different so i manged to install it in about 15 mins from wiring to vtec controller an a earth then running straight thru bulkhead an placed the led just above the middle airvents on the middle dash speaker.
But getting to the point of things ive just realised this is a stupid idea as only way you ever see light flash red and blue is to be hammering it hence now i seem to use more fuel then ever just to see the pretty lights

To be honest, the last thing I want to see out the corner of my eye when booting it is flashing blue and red lights!

to be honest why the hell would you need a light to tell you your in vtec, i know by the sound of the engine and the fact i have a rev counter. plus i can feel it and anyway why do i even need to know. pointless distraction imho

Im going to put a little light on the dash connected to the horn so every time I press the horn I know incase I didn't hear it
