Wiring Advice Needed!

Hi Folks,

So I started fitting the electric window regulators to my Golf last night. Tonight I'm going to build a loom for the system, but just wanted to check something before I start... The OEM wiring has a 30amp fuse shown for the system, which I will be using too. So should I also be using 30amp rated wire and spade connectors etc.? Or can I get away with using a smaller fuse and lower amperage wire and terminals? :?

I'm only trying to avoid the ball ache of driving to the shops

Cheers,
Josh

Nah...

I'm guessing the fuse is for all 4 windows - so the wiring to each regulator should be rated at 7.5 amps minimum (30/4).

Cool, so 30amp cable for the fuse and then onto the relay, then after the relay where I'll take a feed for each switch I should be ok with 10amp per switch?

Used an inline 15 amp fuse I had lying around in the end as I'm only installing power windows in the front. I put the inline fuse between the permanent live on the fuse box and terminal 87 on the relay. I then ran 2 lengths of 8 amp wire to the switches, and then to the regulators and back. Then earthed each switch with more 8 amp cable.

Job done
