This is a common problem with the prelude heater control panel. google it, happens to a lot of preludes abroad.
There is a fix to re-solder the dry joints on all the pins for the green connector on the pcb.
I have the same issue. I had the system re-gas'd last year and then button for the air-con started to not light up mysteriously. If it was overidden by the air-con guy at the compressor, the system worked fine. Later I took out the centre console and radio, but before removing all the heater vents etc. I tried a cheeky squeeze of the connectors with my hand, and hey presto! it started to light up and work. That was last year. Since then the button no longer lights up, and I noticed when switching vent buttons (although they do light up) do not actually switch the vent direction over.
I have re-soldered the pins and now the buttons all light up properly and work ---- except my air-con

Oh, and while I mention it, this is the right time to replace the bulbs for the heater controls. Mine have gone out, and its a tiny white base button bulb which you twist in. They are much smaller than the dash bulbs but the same design...

Does anyone know where to buy these from? Is it Honda dealer only?
