Air con uk to jdm climate

I've decided I want the climate control out of the jdm as opposed to the uk versions air con which is a manual switch.
Has anyone done this swap and if so what are the pitfalls of the swap and is it going to mean taking my whole car to pieces?

Cheers guys

way complicated, have a look on some of the US sites such as prelude power as it is a little more common there!

I'm pretty determined I'm sure it can be done

It can be done, but honestly it is major, major work.

Wiring looms completely different (jdm has at least 3, think it's actually 4 sensors that the ukdm doesn't, spread around the dashboard and front bumper of the car) heater unit is different... I wanted to do it on my ukdm too and am pretty handy, but decided the simplest option was just to by a jdm as a second car

A lot of work for not really much noticeable benefit over here, tbh.

I wanted to do it at some point too. But it's a complete strip down job.

Well, it's not so complicated as it looks from the first sight. I and two other friends have done it. There are several tutorials online. The first one is the best for me:

Of course, this is not a job for one evening, but it's not so hard. And you have one advantage - for LHD cars you need to modify the air mix box. And perhaps you don't need to do so much wiring and soldering, maybe you can take out all or part of the loom and just use it. And even better - take whole JDM panel, in this way you'll avoid panel cutting :)

If you do it and have any questions, you are welcome to ask.

P.S. The answer to the most common question people ask me: yes, it works without AC.

I looked into this too but got scared.

Unless he's sold it, @JDM-BB4 has everything you need.
