Hi folks,
Just wondering, how does one go about getting an extra key fob and key for a Honda that uses the below kind of key and remote?
Just to make matters more complicated I don't have the original documents for the car so I can't get a dealer to order one based on the key serial.is there any way I can get the immobiliser chip cloned and the alarm system to accept an additional remote without spending mega bucks?
Cheers,
Josh

If you buy a second hand one you can reprogram it to your car by
1)unlocking the doors
2) turn key to on
3)press lock or unlock on fob
4)turn key to off
5)turn key to on
6)press lock or unlock
7)turn key to off
8)turn key to on
9)press lock or unlock
10)turn key to off
11)turn key to on
12)press lock or unlock. Leave for longer than 10 secs to abort and or turn key off to abort
13)press lock unlock on each fob (max of 3 can be stored)
Steps 2-12 should be completed within 5secs for each step and 12 and 13 within 10secs for each step

Yes, from experience the 3 on the right of your pic will def work but that is the same process for all preludes fitted with immobilizers. Good luck pal

Just re read your post, with regards to your key, you can get an existing key copied by re flashing to a copy. Most automotive key cutters should be able to do this, and if you havnt got an existing key they should still be able to obtain your key/immobilizers details using their database or even main dealer database providing you have the vin number from the car.THe process I posted first is to re program a key fob. Btw

i only have one key and one fob for the alarm. what's the best wahy to get spares ? know i can get the key, but the fob is more complicated, the alarm is a GT. would it be cheaper to buy a new alarm ? would i be able to just replace the alarm itself and use the siren and sensors that are already installed on my car ?

Does the 4G come with an immobiliser? I know the 5th gen does. My 4th gen doesn't have one.

Depends. The UK 4th gens had Hamilton and Palmer alarm/immob units as they had the contract at the time.
Like everything else though, I imagine the JDM ones just made it up as they went along.... some probably had alarms, while others had Godzilla in the back seat...
