Hello guys,

I'm the french guy who organized with Julienh a group buy for home made door sills. (http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/group-b ... t4661.html)

I'm a member of the french Prelude Club.

I come to you this time to share with you an order we are going to realize for carbon fiber hoods for 4th gen Prelude. (Thanks to indigolemon for allowing me posting this).

Indeed, we discovered a few days ago a french guy located near Marseille in France, who is specialized in carbon fiber. He sells many carbon fiber body parts for EG Civic, and he does really great parts. One of us (a member of the french Prelude Club) went to meet him a few days ago, in order to discuss with him the possibility of making CF hoods (OEM Style) for our 4th gen, and he is OK!
We're gonna bring him an OEM 4th gen hood in a couple of days so that he can make the mold.

We want to show him we could be a lot of persons interested in that.

We can find some carbon fiber hoods on the internet, the best quality/price ratio is the Seibon sold on fullcartuning, approx 600€ shipping included.

He told us he will be able to produce highest quality, highest finishing than Seibon. His EG hoods are sold 440€, it will be close to the cost of our future hoods.

He ships everywhere in Europe, UK included.

So the aim of this topic is to get the number of people who are trully interested in that, so we can tell him "Look, many people around Europe are interested in that, so prove you're able to make a good quality CF hood at a good price, and we'll bring you customers", that simple. I just posted the same message on Prelude Team Poland forum :)

We would like only people trully interested to show up there, not "might be interested, may see in 4687 months if it's possible for me", I hope you understand ;)

You can find there some of the parts he makes (mostly for EG civic) :

Last but not least, the OEM hood weighs approx 20 kgs, and about 8 kgs or less expected for the CF hood.

If you have any question, I'll answer there or PM.

Thanks,

Jordane ;)

The quality of his other bits look great. Do you have any idea of time-frame? And also as he'll obviously be making the moulds I assume these are something he can produce after the group-buy? If so, what savings are to be expected from ordering as part of this groupbuy?

Sorry if those are annoying questions, but I imagine a few others would want to know the answers as well.

So £360ish  If the quality is that of the parts in the links, then I'm all over that. will the hoods be fitted with an oem style lock eye?? So you could retain the original hood release if wanted?!?.

Also, could it be possible to have a version without the washer jet holes in it? I know some come without them anyway.

is there a chance to use some aloy inserts so I can use this bonnet with my gas lifters? I like both CF bonnet and my lifters but so far there isn't any bonnets on market which can be used with them. I dont mind a bit more weight as it stil will be less then OEM one
