Is that single bolt on each side strong enough to withstand the force in a crash without breaking and letting you fly into the windscreen?

It's the bolt for the upper wishbone isn't it? It has nothing to do with the seatbelt.

If you go by that logic, just use the standard seatbelt bolts on the floor! No crash = no crushed spine.

Phil(s), I'm not trying to be pedantic here, I'm asking a genuine safety question as many people may use this as their sole anchor point for restraint.

i can see your concerns, these could be welded into to place aswell as an extra precaution, this is what i'll be doing!
