I though the point was only to do this if you are thermally isolating the intake manifold with one of the fancy thermal gaskets, like the one Hondata does. I've read about several people doing this along with the IACV/FITV blanking and said their intake manifolds were only lukewarm after a long drive whereas with the stock setup it is hot to the touch.
