B-Grade Heaters

Post by Mudgey » Tue Aug 13, 2013 11:43 am

Hello,

I have a couple heaters used on my display stand that have now got a few scratches to the enclosure and radiator, they are in full working condition and are priced at £75 inc VAT, normal price is £110 so thats a bit of a bargain tbh!

Any other time and I would have snapped up one of these. It has been on my wish list for a while.

Both sold yesterday. I think people are starting to get their cars ready for the cold season now, started getting busier and have less time to post controversial mods on LG

Are these for cars with the heater matrix removed?

They are ultra lightweight heaters that weigh in at 1.15kg for the enclosure, heater matrix and fan. I have not weighed a prelude heater assembly but a civic type r unit weighed 8kg for the respective parts. Let alone all the plastic moulded ducting, servo motors etc. These are strictly for race/track cars or weight savers that want a lightweight system to keep the windscreen defrosted and a bit of heat for the driver. They have been used on all sorts of vehicles including kit cars, rally cars, classic cars & some big name manufacturers land speed cars etc.

Yup, but you wouldn't be able to draw more than 0.5 - 0.75kw otherwise you'll drain your battery and are placing a higher load on the engine, they are more expensive and on top of that the hot water is going to waste anyway!
