Mimms Honda Meet 11-12-16 (Coventry)

Post by prelude_h22 » Tue Dec 13, 2016 12:20 pm

Hi Guys,

Just thought i'd share some pics of the Mimms Honda meet me and my brother managed to go too.
We were quite busy in the morning so managed to get there around 1 ish. It started to wind down abit but there were some nice cars on show.

This was the first Honda mimms meet i have attended in many years. The last one I attended was when it was actually held in the south mimms service station. Those were the good ol days.

The show was ok, not that great I heard the mimms at Rockingham was so much better.
It is in the middle of winter so most people hate the cold and their projects are locked away for the summer.
Nevertheless it was a good car day and spent the day with my brother talking cars :) which i havent done in a long time.
The level of builds on show were top notch.

Pics are unedited (sorry, just haven't got the time) and straight from the camera.
Camera details: Nikon D3000 with Sigma Contemporary Lens 17-70mm.
Enjoy!

Nicely done.

It does look a bit like an auction in that shed, though. No doubt there were a few cars we'd all have liked to bid for.

Good to see slammed to the floor, massive camber and massive stretch is still the scene look.

(I do think it's good they can find somewhere to put a meet on undercover in crap weather though) it's a real shame it's lost its 'spontaneity' and unofficial officialness in the process though - that was one of the things I liked most about Mimms. (TBF I'm quite sure people are fed up hearing that from so many people though... :old:  )

You got pics of all the cars but the Ludes lol. I was there in 3rd Gen but I think I may have left by the time you got there. I have the J Reg 3rd Gen. Any pics?

I totally agree, that is what i loved about the original mimms meets.
It was a good meet but for the price you might aswell go to JAE or japfest as you see so many more cars for your money.

I think I might have saw a glimpse of you but you were driving around outside and was leaving i think. Did looked really mint though :)

I did see one blue 5th gen with white motegi wheels i think but he drove off from the show shine area so couldnt grab a photo.

They should have called this meets "Covvs". Being in Coventry and anywhere but mimms.

Great pictures.

cheers ratty,

The 3G civic and the concerto were my highlights.
I think i am getting old.

I seem to find mint classic OEM examples more appealing than the highly tuned custom builds.
