An Accord at the Ring

The chattering classes at the Nürburgring think Hondas aren't good enough. Also, they aren't generally keen on estate cars. Further, diesels are to be pitied – useful only as tow cars.

So what does my son do?

Here's what he writes:

It's a 2.2 diesel wagon with a open diff and front wheel drive.
Hybrid turbo internals has the engine up to a modest 225hp and 500nm. BC coilovers, Poly bushes and an aggressive alignment helps get the 1500kg boat turning in. And AR1s wrapping around some big boy brakes help transmit the surprising capabilities to the road.

This is a full aero car and is ridiculously stable. With a not particularly impressive straight line speed, the sub-8 lap was only going to be possible because it has Porsche bothering corner speed and huge stopping power. (No one braked later than us this weekend. I don't care what the haters tell you. )

Once the clouds cleared and the asbo traffic calmed we went out for an intended test lap and the stars just aligned for us. With intensive tuition from @r0b0b92 I piloted the car at my very limit bursting into tears as we came under the Audi gantry.

The 8-minute diesel fwd barrier had been broken.

@rpm_englandofficial and @derek_cn2 have brilliantly built the best handling car I've ever driven out of the most unconventional platform.

And you know what?

There's more in it

I think it's as in the quote: RPM England. They are in Wiltshire.
