This red atr on eBay, does anyone here know of its history? I'm looking at buying it. Looks pretty solid, recent service and mot. The guy has sent me a pic of the pedal bay which has had welding work done on it in the past.

Thanks chaps

There is something about these in red, look extra special.

Sounds like it has had the dreaded rot fixed, question is, is it a good job or a bodge?

I have to admit, with all the mention of corrosion in the last MOT, I would stay clear of this one. Have you looked online at the MOT history? Doesn't make for great reading.

I'd agree with ATR84, the MOT history points to needing new brakes, tyres, some suspension work and its got rust issues.

Repair as soon as possible (minor defects):
Offside Registration plate lamp inoperative in the case of multiple lamps or light sources (4.7.1 (b) (i))

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Front Service brake fluctuating, but not excessively (1.2.1 (e))
Front Service brake binding but not excessively (1.2.1 (f))
Nearside Front Tyre worn close to legal limit/worn on edge (5.2.3 (e))
Oil leak, but not excessive (8.4.1 (a) (i))
Nearside Front Coil spring corroded (5.3.1 (b) (i))
NSF + OSF Vehicle body corroded
All components on rear axle have surface corrosion

ive been looking at this one, does look pretty clean bodywise but its owned by a notoriously dodgy car dealership "motorhub".... :? it's still a possibility though.
