Some do, some don't.
Three TypeS owners have chimed in on this thread, one told you what the extra bits are, one told you to do more research.
Granted that's not altogether helpful, but still: either find a TypeS gearbox, which is if I understand correctly the only one that will fit the ATTS system. Or remove the ATTS stuff completely and fit a box of your choice.
Perhaps a TypeS owner could just confirm this for clarity?
There are enough of you on here now.

The issue wasn't gearbox, I just didn't know what the box (I now know is LSD) was ,,
I've not seen another lude with it on that's all, but think I know what the lay of the land is now...
Was just perplexing to see something on an engine that I'd never seen before,,,, if you see what I mean??
Cheers everybody for pointers and advice though,,,

Not sure what point you're making there newkid
To me the guy seems confused, I was just trying to sum up the whole thread in one post?
From what has been said it seemed like Ratty was saying the only gearbox that will fit (ever?) is the M2U4, just to make it clear I was asking for clarification for whether:
1. this is the case full stop
2. this is the case if you're wanting to keep the ATTS
3. this isn't the case if you remove the ATTS completely (if you can), and by doing so you're then free to fit any gearbox.
Just trying to help the OP since he is unsure (as he said himself) whether all Preludes came with an LSD as standard or not. This would also potentially serve some purpose to other owners in the future I'm sure. Especially as these cars become older, gearboxes go, etc. Not everyone is clear what goes on in the mystical TypeS, much the same as many people don't quite know the differences between the A5 and A8 other than it makes more power and has a different intake.
Feel free to quote me and misrepresent what I'm saying again and make a valid point
Excellent contribution as always Nitin.

Well I'm having a play with it over the next 2 days so whatever the outcome, I'll bang a thread on here, so if it works people will know, and if it doesn't at least we all know,,,
I've messed with engines in different cars before and I have to say these h22,s seem quite finicky for a normally aspirated engine,,, the other thing that I've noticed is how complicated a Honda is to get a re-map etc done...
Woooooooo,,,,
