it was H2A5 accord F22A1.

one gear was plug and play. other one had to be machined as it was few mm (3or4) to high. Lokal guy can do it for you for few quid. And voilla.

But.
I wanted as long fifth gear as posible. when Im shifting 4 to5 I feel like I missed one and put 6. revs droping down about 1800-2000. I even think it's a bit too long. But I can go 90mph with only 3500 revs.

Like I said it's only my preferences and You may not like so long fifth gear.

Thanks for the info guys. So, from the information I gathered from different sources the U2Q7 will accept a 5th gear from N and U series gearboxes straight out of the box. As explained by K30DPC, the H-series requires a simple modification. The M-series might be as simple as H or might require a bit more work.

Here is some working out I did when I was choosing the M2F5 & M2P4 to base my gearbox on. Its a couple of pages showing the changes in effective torque the gearbox puts out with fifferent ratios and final drives. The calculation gauges the increase in engine power needed to be equal to just changing the gearbox.

I don't know this one box.

What parts?
All to your choice mate. I have changed 5th gear and while it was opened inspected all the rest of my u2q7. I decided to replace all bearings (quite expensive so I found local shop who get them for me) and all three syncro sets (even more expensive and only honda dealer can get them for You) Also I replace all seals. At the moment I have nearly brand new gearbox which cost me around £1200 in total.

If you decide any of this are still good you can save money but I thing this was correct way to rebuild it and make it ready for next few thousand miles.

I mean what parts I need to change? Main and counter gears only? Do I need something else?
