Travel in clutch pedal.

Well i gave up on gettign a cheap one and spent the 65 quid on ebay, and im back on the road.
Although i have encountered 2 problems, first is that the bite point is very low, a lot lower then it used to be. im guessing this is because i used a one man bleeding kit and it just needs to be bled better.
The other problem is that when i was pumping the clutch the bleed the system, the spring behind the pedal snapped. it all functions ok and i have just been for a very short drive, but is this likely to cause a problem in the long run?
