Haha french cars aren't that bad surely, a lot of people slate them but if you buy basics you get what you pay for. I've owned plenty 4x ax gt's a clio 16v and very nearly bought a friends 21 turbo. They are brill if you're not afraid to get your hands dirty. I know this is a prelude forum and honestly can't fault Hondas at all they are a dream to work on and so predictable but same with all cars ( you get what you pay for )
Lol true stevelar, but I think it might be a family thing lol, my dads 406, was playing up, my sisters 206 played up, and my 306 plays up, lol I think your right about what you get is what you pay for, buy cheap twice, buy once expensive, hope this honda bes ok even tho its cheap I just don't want to it to die on me lol, but I'm working on few today my honda, oh and my brothers 306 lol and no this is not my one he achally bought a 306, and to put matters worse he took me along to test it out knowing my one had so much problems he thought il make sure it's properly tested lol cheeky git

Feel your pain man, my sis had two puntos and both suffered with head gasket failure. Lol. Yours sounds like a good introduction to preludes, don't let it put you off if you have a bad experience with it though. I'm in the same boat as you going through the motions of sorting the niggly bits on my 5g. My input shaft bearing is a bit noisy so would benefit from a gearbox teardown but it's my daily so just gona run with it for now and maybe look at getting a cheapish 4g for when I take it off the road to sort it. You have the right idea though don't throw money at it if it's not worth it and just run it until you find something better? Itr sounds like a good call! Good luck with it mate
Thanks stevelar, I only paid £250 and to be honest so far its cost me under £300 that's replacing cv boot and track rod end, so hopefully tax it next month and see how it goes, lol buget motoring, but I will find a decent honda tho, I'm quite curious so I'm thinking do I open and check the cambelt or just leave it, if I check it and there something tiny about it I know it will play on my mind, all the time, or so I just leave it hope for the best

Lol your right bb1 boy and stevelar, that what I was thinking if I see the tiniest thing I just play on mind all the time lol I love that rule " if it ain't broke don't fix it" did I mention how I fixed my peugeot radiator hose, with a length of cold water domestic under ground hose and 2 jubilee clips lol now that's budget motoring lol it's more like scrap heap challenge at mine I drive my dads new vectra n it's like luxury lol but I love old Skool something so easier to work on news engine are mostly so packed
