15mpg is low, do you wear lead shoes?

My built h22's were both running 23-25mpg and I didn't drive them slowly.

JJ, if you want economy give the civic a go. Bought a 98 civic couple for the mrs a couple months ago and she's currently getting around 47mpg out of it. 1.6 petrol non-vtec, think the motor is a d16y4. Nice to drive too :)
PAW rebuilt 98 prelude 228bhp & 171lb/ft R.I.P.
PAW rebuilt 01 ATR 238bhp & 164lb/ft sold

There is no way the 2.2 will give you those firgures combined, imho. 20-30 and 33-36 on a run maybe. The most you can get out of a tank safely is 400 miles. where does 40mpg and 60liter of fuel work out to that? :(

@jj: you should consider a H22 civic conversion imho. you will be looking at 35-40 mpg on a run due to the much lighter chassis and have uber poke for the fun.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

60L/400mi is around 30mpg

On a run I got around 35mpg but that was pretty much 60mph and cruise control all the way.

Out of 51L I just got 320mi so that's around 28mpg. Not a lot of VTEC helped that

But then 70mph in 5th is ~3800rpm in the M2P4 so not exactly friendly.

I put in a full tank every time £58 a time and that dose around 190 miles maby 220 if only running to work and back this is a 12 mile round trip and never travel above 40 mph I think I need to get this lookt at

That's what's tempting me towards the Civic VEi. It comes as stock with a mega fuel efficient 1.5 lump, one of those economy VTEC jobbies that can easily bag 40mpg on a run apparently. Because it's a VTEC engine, the car's interior loom is OBD1 with the necessary VTEC wires - perfect for an upgrade at a later date when hopefully Laura will find work closer to home  plus I really like the shape of an EG hatch :)

Only downside is space, I honestly could do with an estate again for moving crap. But then there's an Accord Aerodeck that has come out the woodwork too which is tempting me, but then that's probably going to be a compromise on space and fuel economy... Fml

I think it's just the short commute you're doing mate, it won't help your MPG. My Scirocco is a 1.8, I put £70 of super in that earlier in the month and I've done about 120 miles on 2/3 of a tank. My commute is 5 miles each way so the engine never gets a chance to run efficiently unfortunately. Kind of makes me think I may as we'll be driving something like a Legend coupe or similar
