Replacement rear speakers Gen5

Post by nick_s » Thu Dec 26, 2013 8:42 pm

Has anyone who has replaced their rear speakers found any difficulty with the baskets of the 6x9 hitting the torsion bars for the boot lid?

Mine need replacing and I don't want to find the replacements are too big :)

MDF spacers will work. Even better is no rear speakers. 8-)

I up rated the fronts to Rockford Fosgate Power series 5.25" components with a 400 watt RMS Rockford Fosgate 2 channel Power series amp and removed the rears!

The sound stage is now up front, right where it needs to be.

Never looked back! :)

See I've been experimenting. I stuck the fade all the way to the front, negating the rears. Not too shabby (no idea what speakers are up front) but I need ze bass. I may well amp it up and stick a small sub in the rear to fill out the lows.
