goober vtec on 5th gen
goober vtec on 5th gen
Hi all
I've been driving like ~1200km with my vtec now and boy does he like gas. More than 10L/100km !
Apparently no leak, air filter is clean, spark plugs seem fine and i ve been told they have 3000km on the odo, the egr is blocked closed, i drive pretty cool (upshift 3000 approx and no heavy load, hit the vtec once or twice a tank), distributor clean, spark wires ok...
Next thing is cat conv removed, then idk, any suggestions ?

10L/100km
50L/500km = 50L/310 miles = 28.19 mpg

Oops, british / us gallons fight here ! 1 mile = 1.6km and 1usg = 3.7L
Hence 10L/100 -> 23mpg in us.
Ok, well, still, its a lot for how im driving. French guys with the same engine told me they get 8-9L, so 10-20% better
British gallon is 4.5L ?!

10l/62 is 28.19 mpg, same as Merlin's calculation. Your figures aren't anything shocking, my last fill up was 55l after ~330mi, that works out around 28mpg. Best I've ever got was near 36 but that was all motorway and sitting with the lorriesvalenzo wrote:Thats a lot. Same year, v8 5.7L, 285hp Camaro gets 9L/100 with the same driving habits.
I should get a 8L, 8.5 maximum.
10L/100 is 23mpg
